Why the Name?
White Dot is named after the small indicator light on a secure device — the dot that tells you your camera or microphone is active. It represents a promise: you will always know what is happening with your data. No dark patterns, no hidden processes, no silent data collection. The dot is always visible.
Our Team
White Dot is built by a small, independent team of engineers, cryptographers, and designers who believe that private communication is a fundamental right, not a premium feature. We are fully remote, distributed across time zones, and united by a single conviction: technology can protect privacy without sacrificing quality.
Our History
White Dot began as a response to the growing surveillance economy in messaging. After years of building security infrastructure for other companies, our founding team decided to build the app they always wanted to use — one where privacy is not an afterthought but the starting point.
The app launched in 2025 and has been steadily growing among users who value their privacy. We remain independent, user-funded through optional subscriptions, and committed to our founding principles.
